Hadestown, winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards including Best Musical and the 2020 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, is a theatrical retelling of the ancient myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Set in a world where a song can change your fate, the story follows two young lovers whose journey takes them to the underworld and back. The production weaves together themes of love, doubt and resilience in a haunting and hopeful experience.

January 25, 2023 The dancing was well choreographed, although, many numbers were very similar, presumably noting the tedium of the underworld. The use of the rotating stage was well executed, and the overall energy was high. In the end, although disappointed by the book and lack of passion between the two main couples, I was glad to have seen it. id our critic think of HADES TOWN at The Overture?
