Kentucky Center to Showcase World Class Artists This Spring & Summer

The Kentucky Center is offering a wide variety of entertainment this spring and summer, as it continues its 32nd arts season. Spring performances will feature musicians Bobby McFerrin and Alton Brown, actor and comedian David Cross, internationally renowned dance company Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater as well as many others. View the current season lineup at www.kentuckycenter.org/kcpresents. New shows will be added throughout the year, and the fall shows for the 2016-2017 will be officially announced in July 2016.

In this unique world premiere scored by world renowned bluegrass cellist Ben Sollee, storytelling, music, dance, and the visual arts come together on stage. The only thing missing in this story...pictures! Through the use of technology, a unique interactive arts experience is created for each audience member through a partnership with the Speed Museum and the Humana IT department. Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) and Education at Roundabout (Jennifer DiBella, Director of Education) are pleased to announce that the Youth Performing Arts School in Louisville, KY will present the regional premiere of PROSPECT HIGH: BROOKLYN. Written by Daniel Robert Sullivan and a team of New York City teenagers, Prospect High: Brooklyn was developed in partnership with Education at Roundabout and the Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowships. The play will have its world premiere in 23 high school productions across the country, September 2015 - May 2016. Youth Performing Arts School will present the play on January 28th and 29th at 7:30 PM in their theatre at duPont Manual High School, 1517 South Second St., Louisville, KY 40208. An earthy, 21-year old, Leo, shows up at his grandmother's Greenwich Village apartment in the middle of the night, seeking another place to crash on his cross-country bicycle trip, which inadvertently ends on this night, as he ends up staying with her for several weeks and the two of them strike up a newfound friendship.
