Walden Theatre Announces Stage-Setter Breakfast & Reception 5/14

By:

Walden Theatre will hold its two annual Stage-Setter events on Friday, May 14th to recognize the individuals who set the stage for the continuing success of our students and our organization.

BREAKFAST:
Join us at ArtSpace above the Brown Theatre from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. as we recognize Trish Pugh Jones with Walden's 2010 Arts Community Impact Award and J. Barrett Cooper with Walden's 2010 Inspirational Alumni Award. We will also launch the Walden Theatre Alumni Fund. With this fund, Walden alumni will help underwrite financial assistance for Conservatory students in need.

Along with these recognitions we'll have a short program including a monologue performance by Walden senior Andy Fleischer and a word from Artistic Director Charlie Sexton about arts education. The breakfast is a free event.

RECEPTION:
In the evening, Walden will host a Stage-Setter Reception including the 2010 Stage-Setter honorees in the lobby of the Victor Jory Theatre at Actors Theatre Of Louisville from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and admission to the 8:00 p.m. performance of Love's Labour's Lost directed by Charlie Sexton in the Victor Jory Theatre.

The reception is a chance for guests to meet our honorees and for alumni to reconnect with current and former Walden students. Tickets for the reception and performance are $35.

Trish Pugh Jones is a former Associate Director and Development Manager for Actors Theatre Of Louisville and worked as a fundraiser for Fund for the Arts for five years. She is a former board member at Walden Theatre and was responsible for finding Walden's current classroom and performance space on Payne Street. In addition, she has served on the boards of the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, the English Speaking Union, and Louisville Downtown Development, and she was appointed by the mayor to serve on the Downtown Overlay District.

J. Barrett Cooper is Curator of Historic Interpretations at the Frazier International History Museum, overseeing live historic interpretations and combat. Cooper is founder and Artistic Director of Savage Rose Classical Theatre Company, Louisville's only theatre company devoted wholly to the classics. He also chairs the Summer Theatre Festival at Idyllwild Arts Academy in California, he is a former Associate Director for Walden Theatre, and has directed more than 40 productions with Walden.
