The Kentucky Center to Present 'AN ACOUSTIC CHRISTMAS' with Over the Rhine

The Kentucky Center will present "An Acoustic Christmas with Over the Rhine" on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at The Kentucky Center - Bomhard Theater (501 W. Main St., Louisville, KY).

Over the Rhine is an American folk music band, with husband-and-wife duo Linford Detweiler and Karin Bergquist at the heart. Detweiler acts as guitarist, bassist and pianist for the band while Bergquist is a guitarist and vocalist.

The band's name derives from the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood in Cincinnati, Ohio, where the band was founded. The musical group has often been credited with helping to alter perceptions of the neighborhood by shining a light on its beauty and cultural appeal.

Originally founded as a quartet, Over the Rhine now primarily consists of Detweiler and Bergquist along with complementary musicians. The band has performed with several famous musicians over the years, including Ani DiFranco, Bob Dylan and the Louisville band My Morning Jacket.

With this tour, Over the Rhine continues their passion for holiday performances. The concert will include music from their holiday albums, including Snow Angels and Blood Oranges In the Snow, as well as songs from their many other popular albums.
