American history blazes to vivid life in this funny, insightful and unconventional Broadway musical, which The New York Times has called, "consistently exciting and entertaining." Join Music Theatre Louisville as they present 1776, June 25-27, June 29- July 2, 7:30 p.m., July 3, 6:30p.m.; Matinees, June 27 & July 3, 2:00 p.m. at The Kentucky Center, Bomhard Theater.

Written by Peter Stone (Bookwriting: Two by Two, The Will Rogers Follies, Screenplays; Sweet Charity, The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3), 1776 follows John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Richard Henry Lee, and Thomas Jefferson as they attempt to convince the members of the second Continental Congress to vote to free their fledgling nation from the shackles of the British monarchy by signing the Declaration of Independence... if only the founding fathers could agree! 1776 features a memorable score, with songs "Sit Down, John," "Momma Look Sharp," and "Molasses to Rum." Directed by Jon Huffman.
