OBCTheater is excited to be back presenting live theater with Into the Woods, running for only 8 performances at the Historic Civic Center Theater in Corona. Into the Woods is a Tony-winning musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine. Based on fairytales by the Brothers Grimm, this tale skillfully weaves together several fairy tales into one epic story that goes beyond the happy endings to show what happens after Happily Ever After. For more than 18 years, OBCT has produced Broadway quality theater for the Inland Empire, highlighting local talent and professional artists. OBCTheater was fortunate to partner with the City of Corona throughout the pandemic to provide unique community outreach events and online performances said Artistic Director Amanda Kalkanis. We are thrilled to be back with in-person performances at our beautiful historic theater performing this Sondheim masterpiece. With a stunning production design by Nancy Hart, Into the Woods is music directed by Robert Hoyt, Choreographed by Radames Montes and directed by Amanda Kalkanis and Patrick Brien. A truly inventive ensemble piece, OBCTheater has assembled a incredible cast of performers from throughout Southern California. INTO THE WOODS features Rachel Chase as the Witch, Camryn Hamm as Cinderella, Alex Keane as the Baker, Elise Burt as Little Red Ridinghood, Amanda Kalkanis as the Bakers Wife, Matthew Malecki as Cinderellas Prince, Melissa Smith as Rapunzel, Patrick McIver as Rapunzels Prince, Nathanial Vogel as Florinda, Scott McDermott as Lucinda, James Ellis as the Narrator, Nolan Almeida as Jack, Candace Elder as Jacks Mother, Wayne Hundley as Mysterious Man, Tiffanie Levin as the Stepmother, Shawn Hart as Cinderellas Father, Adam Granados as the Wolf, Hailey Rose Hansgen as Sleeping Beauty and Marisa Alfaro as Snow White.
