VOX Femina Chosen to Perform the National Anthem for The Los Angeles Sparks For 'Awesome August's' Inspiring Women Theme

By:

VOX Femina, whose recent concerts have featured Broadway elite such as Rachel York, Susan Egan, and Smithsonian inductee, Florence Henderson was chosen to perform the National Anthem by The Los Angeles Sparks at The Staples Center for their "Awesome August" Inspiring Women theme.

"Vox Femina were spectacular. I have always taken a certain pride in the quality of anthem singers we have at our games, but the VOX group really raised the bar. They were absolutely wonderful...." - Kathy Goodman, Sparks Co-owner

The Los Angeles Sparks have return home after a month on the road and prepare to tip-off an action-packed month of August that includes 10 home games, nearly 20 community appearances and a variety of fun and entertaining theme nights.

Sparks theme nights at STAPLES Center add even more excitement to the fan experience. From honoring Inspiring Women in our community, to helping our fans "Go Green" at a green expo and get fit at a health and wellness fair, every game in August features entertaining extras for fans.

On Wednesday, August 19: Lynx vs. Sparks - featured VOX Femina singing the national Anthem as part of their highlight to Inspiring Women, a chance to honor and celebrate the women who uplift and inspire us. Here is the link to a video captured from the appearance http://www.andrewrozendal.com/videos/vox/.

Iris Levine, Artistic Director, Vox Femina Los Angeles said: "Performing the National Anthem at the Sparks game was truly a dream come true. It was most gratifying to appear on "Inspiring Women" night. We rocked the house!"

"Awesome August" gives fans an opportunity to see the Sparks both on the court and in the community through numerous partnerships and activities. http://www.wnba.com/sparks/news/Inspiring_Women_Press_Release.html

Cheryl Bode, Sparks season ticket holder and Vox subscriber said: "I have been a supporter of Vox Femina from its humble beginnings and have watched, with great admiration and respect, the development and achievements of this incredible group of female vocalists. Vox Femina singing the National Anthem was truly wonderful, inspirational and greatly appreciated."

The public can hire a select group of these "Inspiring Women" (VFLA singers) to phone family and friends across the nation (and internationally for an additional fee) to sing them your holiday wishes with HOLIDAY GRAMS.
