Theatre for Young America Presents LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW This Weekend

By:

The "Headless Horseman" rides again in this musical by John Simons based on the most popular tale from Washington Irving's The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent. This week-long run is a night-time presentation with performances at 7:00 p.m. each night from tonight, October 27 through October 31, 2015.

A hapless teacher named Ichabod Crane, a skinny, lanky, jittery schoolmaster falls for the town's maiden, Katrina. But another fellow named Brom is also wooing the young lady and so becomes Ichabod's chief rival and antagonist. Town folk tell Ichabod the fable of a local legend, the story of a "Headless Horseman" who prowls the night and takes people's heads. The schoolmaster outwardly scoffs at the superstitious people but Bram notices Ichabod seems a bit rattled by the story. So what will happen on a dark, forbidding road when Ichabod encounters a ghostly specter? This Halloween season treat is filled with music, humor and just enough scares to be fun, and is suitable for audiences from ages 6 years old through adult.

Legend of Sleepy Hollow is directed by Theatre for Young America's Artistic Director, Valerie Mackey. Performances take place on the H&R Block City Stage in Union Station at 30 W. Pershing Road in Kansas City, Missouri.
