The McCallum Theatre Presents Broadway Favorite MAN OF LA MANCHA, Now thru 1/26

By:
The McCallum Theatre and the Rabobank Broadway Blockbuster Series present the national tour of Man of LaMancha for five performances, tonight, January 24, through Sunday, January 26.

Man of La Mancha returns in an all-new production complete with the Tony Award winning score and book that has inspired theatregoers since the very first note of "The Impossible Dream" was heard on opening night. Enter the mind and the world of Don Quixote as he pursues his quest for the impossible dream. Against all odds, a man sees good and innocence in a world filled with darkness and despair. This lyrical and amusing adventure is a classic tale of the triumph of man over his own follies.

The original Broadway production ran for 2,328 and won five Tony Awards, including "Best Musical" and Man of LaMancha remains one of the most enduring works of musical theatre. Man of La Mancha was written by Dale Wasserman, with music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion. This production stars Jack E. Curenton as Don Quixote, Rick Grossman as Sancho, and Jessica Norland as Aldonza.

He recently produced and toured the southwest in productions of Fiddler on the Roof and Pirates of Penzance. With over 350 films, commercial, voice-over and video credits, Jack is constantly busy.

Rick Grossman (Sancho) has more than 200 productions to his credit as both an actor and director for over 50 years. He has appeared Off-Broadway in numerous productions including The Manufacturer's Daughter, Feldman & Sons, and Damn Yankees; in national tours including Enter Laughing and Come Blow Your Horn; and regional productions including Oliver!, The Producers, Anything Goes, Gypsy, Little Shop of Horrors and many others.
