Beginning Sunday, April 19, 2015, The Clown School will begin an exciting five-week journey with master mask and puppet maker Robert (Bob) Alan Beuth. During this class, held every Sunday from 10am-2pm, students will learn the art of puppet making through creative design, sculpture and construction. This is the first time Mr. Beuth has taught at The Clown School, though he is an alumnus of the school, which makes him well versed in the art of clown and an obvious choice for instructor of such a unique workshop.

Mr. Beuth recently worked with LA-based clown troupe Four Clowns on the 2014 productions Noah and Jonah at the Annenberg Beach Community House in Santa Monica as the master puppet designer and builder. He designed twelve full pairs of animal hand-puppets portrayed in the Noah piece and a large "God" head and hand used in both the Noah and Jonah pieces, which required multiple actors in order to operate. Mr. Beuth studied mask making with Julie Taymor in New York, and has continued to develop his unique mask and puppet designs for original theatrical productions in Los Angeles for the past two decades.

Mr. Beuth's Puppet Making class will dive deep into the creative design process behind sculpting and puppet making through a course that takes students from start to finish through the designing and building process. Sculpting has become a "lifelong passion" for Mr. Beuth, and The Clown School is thrilled to have this master in-house, teaching such an exciting, unconventional art form like puppet making. The Clown School's Artistic Director David Bridel explains, "We're very excited to introduce Bob's class to Los Angeles. His unique abilities as a puppet designer and maker are an inspiration to all who work with him."

Puppet Making with Bob Beuth meets every Sunday for four hours, running April 19 through May 17, 2015 from 10am-2pm. Classes will be held in Van Nuys, CA and the fee is $350. Discounts are available for students who have studied with The Clown School before. The last day for internet registration is April 19, 2015. For more information on registration email The Clown School at administrator@theclownschool.com.

The Clown School, through the work of Artistic Director David Bridel, offers the highest quality of clown training to actors, performers, comedians, and participants from all walks of life, including doctors, teachers, healers, film-makers, and students. The School has successfully "graduated" legions of new clowns, including many members of the multi-award-winning company Four Clowns, and won widespread acclaim for its classes.

The Clown School has been described as "truly spectacular and unforgettable" by LA Stage, and "inspiring and amazing", "the best class I have ever taken", "life-changing", "ridiculous and fabulous", "sensational", "revolutionary stuff", and more by its 1000's of students. Based in Los Angeles, The Clown School has traveled to China, Australia, Turkey and Brazil to spread the gospel of clowning, forming connections and partnerships with ground breaking companies and organizations around the world. www.theclownschool.com.
