'The Best Man' on LA Radio The Play's The Thing, Nov.10
On Saturday, November 10 from 10PM - midnight on 89.3 KPCC, The Play's the Thing will air The Best Man by Gore Vidal, starring Senator Fred Thompson and Marsha Mason.
"An incisive, dark political satire about two presidential contenders seeking the endorsement of an aging ex-president at any cost. With delightful cynicism, playwright Gore Vidal explores how personal agendas can ultimately change the course of a nation's destiny," explain press notes.
The program includes an extended interview (recorded in 2002) with current Presidential candidate Fred Thompson and Marsha Mason, in which they discuss the dynamics of Washington politics and grass-roots activism.
L.A. Theatre Works' radio theater series, The Play's the Thing, airs locally every Saturday night from 10PM to midnight on 89.3 FM KPCC Southern California Public Radio, and is streamed on the KPCC website (www.kpcc.org) for one week following each broadcast.
