Suzan-Lori Parks Play 'FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS' Sets West Coast Debut at the Taper This Spring

FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (PARTS 1, 2 & 3) by by Suzan-Lori Parks will make its West Coast premiere this spring, directed by Jo Bonney at Center Theatre Group's Mark Taper Forum.

In this devastatingly beautiful new play set during the Civil War, a slave named Hero is offered his freedom if he joins his master in the ranks of the Confederacy. The choice is to leave the woman and people he loves for what may be an empty promise. His decision brings him face to face not only with a nation at war with itself, but with what freedom truly means.

Previews (April 5 - April 16): Tuesday through Saturday at 8 p.m.; Sunday at 1 and 6:30 p.m. No performance on Monday. Exception: Added Saturday matinee at 2:30 p.m. on April 16. Opens Sunday, April 17 at 7 p.m. Regular Performances (April 19 - May 15): Tuesday through Friday at 8 p.m.; Saturday at 2:30 and 8 p.m.; Sunday at 1 and 6:30 p.m. No performance on Mondays. Exceptions: No public performances April 26-28 (student matinees only).

Ticket Prices: $25 - $85 (subject to change).
