Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's in Studio City Announces Alexandra Billings In EVERYBODY'S GIRL 11/15
Sterling's Upstairs at Vitello's in Studio City, CA is pleased to announce that ALEXANDRA BILLINGS will make her cabaret concert debut in EVERYBODY'S GIRL - Sunday, November 15, 2009. Bill Newlin will serve as Musical Director. The event is co-presented by Ralph Lampkin, Jr. of the Lampkin Music Group.
A recipient of a MAC award from the Manhattan Association of Concert and Cabaret Artists, Alexandra Billings has also received 5 After Dark Awards from Gay Chicago Magazine and a Jeff Award (the Chicago equivalent to a Tony Award). Alexandra was nominated for an Artist Director Achievement Award as Best Actress in a Musical for her critically acclaimed one-woman, autobiographical show-in-song Before I Disappear presented in Los Angeles during 2005. Preceded by productions in Chicago and Boston, the show opened Off-Broadway in 2003 at The Producer's Club. More recently, it was presented in Southwest Michigan at the distinguished Acorn Theatre during 2007. In addition to Alexandra's two recordings Being Alive and The Story Goes One, her work has received national attention from performances in nightclubs and theaters throughout the U.S. including The Empire Room, 88's, The Mercury Theater, Don't Tell Mama's, Gentry's of Chicago, Arci's Place, ParkWest and Toulouse. Ms. Billings received impressive praise for her guest-starring roles on television's Grey's Anatomy and ER; and was inducted into Chicago's Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame.
She is a Viewpoints teacher at Steppenwolf in Chicago and in Los Angeles, alongside Jeff Perry and Tom Irwin; and is a Professor of Viewpoints at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).
