Sharon Tate Trilogy Of Plays to Debut in Los Angeles Together

This American Blonde Actress and Mississippi Mud Productions announce the arrival of three of the Sharon Tate plays from New York to play in Los Angeles at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute - Studio 2 in West Hollywood, January 26-28 for one weekend only. The weekend affords opportunities to see the plays individually or in combination. The solo piece was written and is performed by Jen Danby. The duo shows were written and are performed by Jen Danby and Daniel Delano. Directed by Austin Pendleton. This is an AEA showcase production.

The original in the trio is the solo play, SHARON TATE IN HEAVEN, returning to LA after premiering in NYC, and playing on Long Island, in Key West, and in Daytona Beach and Miami. Beginning moments after Sharon Tate's murder in the summer of 1969 by members of the Manson family, Sharon has a TV interview in Heaven. Dubbed "Future Girl" in HORROR FANTASY magazine, this "Million Dollar Baby" had a deep love affair with and then married the director Roman Polanski. This Heavenly interview focuses on family, love, and Hollywood, as Sharon teases out the possibilities of what does she do now? A play for fans and for those new to Sharon. "A wonderful First-Person Trip Down Celluloid Memory Lane...captivating performance...charismatic" - Broadway World LA

CHARLIE AND SHARON, the second of the trio, debuts on the West Coast after playing NYC and Long Beach, LI. This is an imagined encounter in four scenes spanning 1969 to the present day, when Sharon confronts Charles Manson, the mastermind behind her murder in his "Helter Skelter" plan for world domination. With dark and light sides, intensity, and humor, Sharon puzzles through what is happening with help from the still living Charlie, in turn making him, literally, face his crime. Not a zombie, not exactly a ghost, she just is and needs to connect with Charlie, leaving him rattled as well as tantalized by her. Taking on love, desire, dreams, and death, this LA debut performance times with the recent real-life death of Manson, placing Charlie and Sharon, in the end, on the same plane where life and death meet. "A beautiful piece of acting that you won't soon forget. Kudos to all." - Thom Racina, ABC

SHARON AND ROMAN, the third in the trio, also debuts on the West Coast after playing in NYC and Long Beach, LI. The love story of Sharon Tate and genius director Roman Polanksi began when Sharon met Roman on a comic horror film project they did together in London and Italy. She's the All-American army brat from Texas, who fell in love with acting when she played Juliet in High School. He's the haunted survivor of the Holocaust in Poland, who made his first movies from camera parts found in garbage cans as a young boy. They fell in love, lived together and she brought him back to LA. They married in 1968. Then - Helter Skelter. Sharon was 8 1/2 months pregnant when she was murdered in their LA home at 10500 Cielo Drive. That night Roman was in London working on the DAY OF THE DOLPHIN script for her and Jack Nicholson. In five scenes taking place from 1967 to 1980 on Sharon's birthday, this story of love between two artists living a life of movie making fame and being with love's challenges, dreams, passions, demons, and better angels unfolds full circle. "Love, deceit, romance and raw emotion will keep you gripped to your seats." - Headout.com

Together, this trio of plays tells the story of Sharon Tate relationally, and takes on the most infamously violent murder in American history. (A fourth part, SHARON AND MIA, about Sharon and Mia Farrow's friendship, featuring Jen Danby and Jessica Marie Smith, has debuted on the East Coast to form a Quadrilogy of plays. The plays making this LA trip can be watched alone or together, in an immersion experience that together tell their own story.) Timeless, these plays speak to America and Hollywood in 2018, when we are all reflecting on compassion and power and "Me Too."
