SKANKY ME FROM KANKAKEE to Premiere at Hollywood Fringe 2015

By:

Showgirls, flaming batons, wild sex and disco balls.... all in a heartfelt coming of age/coming out original rock musical. SKANKY ME FROM KANKAKEE, a world premiere rock musical by Marc Francoeur, will set the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2015 on fire with its empowering and inspirational message of #betruetoyou.

Marc Francoeur began working on this autobiographical based sexual coming of age tale a decade ago. For years this theatrical piece was a one-man rock musical, and recently grew into the full ensemble piece that will be premiered at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2015.

"The growth of SKANKY ME could not be contained," say Francoeur. "As soon as I expressed to my director and choreographer, Nancy Dobbs Owen, that maybe we should add 4 women as back up dancers and singers, it took off like wildfire. It was one of those moments where the Universe steps in and says, 'this is where this needs to go....NOW!'."

"I chose the dynamics of 4 women playing all the other characters in this production because that was the energetic in which I grew up. I am all about authenticity and honoring the truth. The intention of the show is to empower and inspire more love, compassion, tolerance and acceptance for self and others."

We follow the journey of Marc, as he discovers his homosexuality, and though this show will definitely resonate with the LGBTQ community, it will also resonate with all communities because of its universal themes and messages.
