SCANDAL's Bellamy Young Set for COFFEE WITH GOLDSTAR Next Week

By:

Goldstar is excited to announce the latest guest star to answer viewer questions online in real time next week: Actress Bellamy Young, best known for playing First Lady Mellie Grant on ABC's Scandal. Young will answer fans' questions during Coffee With Goldstar on Monday, February 29 at 4:30pm EST/1:30pm PST.

"People have really been loving these online chats," says Goldstar CEO Jim McCarthy. "They're just so easy and fun. Even if you're in line at Starbucks, you can pull up the chat on your phone or tablet and ask the guest star anything you want. They may even perform for you a bit! During the last Coffee with Goldstar, Il Divo serenaded a viewer who was getting over a breakup."

That chat with Il Divo, the third in the Coffee With Goldstar series, had double the viewership of the first chat only weeks before. Coffee With Goldstar participation is growing fast.

The free interactive chat with Bellamy Young -- the fourth installment in the Coffee With Goldstar series -- begins at 4:30pm EST/ 1:30pm PST and last 30 minutes. To join, just go to Concert Window's Coffee With Goldstar page: https://www.concertwindow.com/goldstar. (Register for free on the page if you'd like to ask questions.)

For five years now, Young has starred as politically ambitious First Lady Mellie Grant on the hit ABC series Scandal - a role that Rolling Stone magazine calls "the most badass first lady in TV history." She won a Critics' Choice Award, has been named one of the New York Post's Top 10 TV Actors, and has been ranked among Entertainment Weekly's 25 Best Characters on TV.

Young began her acting career on stage, starring in Broadway's The Life and in the revival of Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along, before moving on to TV (Criminal Minds, CSI: Miami, Scrubs) and movies (We Were Soldiers, Mission Impossible: III). Her upcoming films include family comedy Offer and Compromise, opposite Tom Cavanaugh, and The Night Stalker, opposite Lou Diamond Phillips. A trained singer, Young has released her debut album, Far Away So Close, which is a collection of contemporary covers influenced by her North Carolina roots.

Bellamy Young will be live in L.A. on March 15 at PaleyFest 2016, which brings together the stars and creators of popular TV shows for panel discussions and audience Q&As. Joining Young will be Scandal creatorShonda Rhimes, costars Kerry Washington, Tony Goldwyn, Guillermo Diaz, Darby Stanchfield, Katie Lowes, Jeff Perry, Joshua Malina, Scott Foley, Portia de Rossi, Cornelius Smith Jr., Joe Morton, and executive producer Betsy Beers. Tickets are available on Goldstar at https://www.goldstar.com/artists/paleyfest-tickets.

Bellamy Young is the fourth Coffee With Goldstar guest. Past guests include Star Trek's George Takei (star of Broadway's Allegiance), actor-pianist-playwright Hershey Felder and operatic pop quartet Il Divo. The future will bring many more live chats with Broadway cast members, musicians, comedians, dancers and others.
