Rivers Cuomo and the Band Weezer Step Up to Support Shakespeare Orange County
Rivers Cuomo, front man of the band Weezer, is known for his fondness for Shakespeare's plays. This year, he donated 4 prime seating concert tickets and a guitar signed by the band to Shakespeare Orange County ("SOC"), which is holding a sweepstakes drawing to raise money for the 2017 season.
SOC has put together a prize package they hope will attract Weezer fans around the globe: one lucky winner will receive not only the signed guitar and 4 concert tickets, but also airfare and lodging for 4 to the concert city. "Thanks to Weezer's generous contribution, we anticipate that we'll be able to reach a wide base of music fans and raise significant funds for the summer 2017 season. It's a win-win situation," states John Walcutt, Artistic Director of SOC.
The company hopes to attract significant funds with the drawing, which they will use to support their 2017 season and beyond.
