Cirque du Soleil makes a celebratory return to Los Angeles and Orange County with Corteo, beginning August 23, 2007 for a limited engagement at The Forum in L.A. before traveling to the Orange County Fair & Exposition Center in Costa Mesa on November 8, 2007.
Both shows will be presented under the trademark blue and yellow Grand Chapiteau marking the 20th anniversary of Cirque du Soleil in Los Angeles.Created and directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, Corteo, "which means 'cortege' in Italian, is a joyous procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown," state press notes. "The clown pictures his own funeral taking place in a carnival atmosphere, watched over by quietly caring angels. The show brings together the passion of the actor with the grace and power of the acrobat to plunge the audience into a theatrical world of fun, comedy and spontaneity situated in a mysterious space between heaven and earth. The Corteo cast includes 61 artists from 16 countries."Tickets for Corteo can be purchased online at www.cirquedusoleil.com or by calling 800-678-5440.Photos by Marie-Reine Mattera ©Cirque du Soleil, Inc. 2005.
