Photo Flash: Actor's Co-op Presents Relevant Drama CAT'S-PAW

Actors Co-op (Ovation Award-Winner 2014 Best Intimate Theatre Musical for 110 in the Shade) presents the fourth show in its celebratory 25th Silver Anniversary season with the riveting CAT'S-PAW by William Mastrosimone and directed by Stephen Rothman. CAT'S-PAW will preview on Wednesday, March 22 & Thursday, March 23 at 8pm and will open on Friday, March 24 at 8pm and run through Sunday, April 30 at the Actors Co-op Crossley Theatre, 1760 N. Gower St. (on the campus of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood) in Hollywood.

Torn from today's headlines, what do you do when your enemy may be smarter than you? William Mastrosimone's gripping drama about a terrorist who has wreaked madness and destruction on America and is about to use a news reporter to exploit just one more valuable hostage - the world's supply of clean water. ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM AND CAST

William Mastrosimone (Playwright) is an American playwright and screenwriter from Trenton, New Jersey. He attended high school at The Pennington School and received a graduate degree in playwriting from Mason Gross School of the Arts, a part of Rutgers University. His plays include The Woolgatherer, Extremities, Shivaree, and CAT'S-PAW. He also wrote Bang Bang You're Dead, which can be downloaded from the Internet and performed by students for free. Other plays include A Stone Carver, The Afghan Women and Nanawatai, upon which the film "The Beast" is based. Two other plays are Sleepwalk, a story agaIn Focusing on the traumas of modern teenage life, and Dirty Business, a play about a party girl caught between the mafia and the newly elected President of the United States. His screenwriting credits include "Into the West" and the adaptation of his play "Extremities." He won a Daytime Emmy Award for "Bang, Bang You're Dead" and was nominated for a Prime Time Emmy for "Into the West" and "The Burning Season."

Stephen Rothman (Director) happily returns to Actors Co-op having directed their 2008 production of The Elephant Man. He is best known by West Coast Theatre audiences for his work as founder and artistic leader of the revitalized Pasadena Playhouse. He also served as artistic director of the Sacramento Theatre Company. His directing career has taken him across the country and around the world, including a 2008 production of Harold Pinter's Betrayal in Florence, Italy for the Florence InterNational Theatre Company. His American Resident/Regional Theatre credits include more than 100 plays in 16 different States for 40 different theatre companies. He is especially proud of his work on numerous world premieres including Sparky And The Fitz starring Academy Award winner Eli Wallach at the George Street Playhouse in New Jersey, Learn To Fall starring France's award winning clown/artist Buffo at The Attic Theatre in Detroit, Gilligan's Island, The Musical for Chicago's Organic Theatre and Father, Son, And Holy Coach for the Santa Monica Playhouse to name just a few.

He has had a long association with Deaf West Theatre directing their 2015 production of American Buffalo. Other American Sign Language (ASL) productions with the company include: Of Mice And Men, Orphans, What Are You...Deaf?, and Pinocchio. For American television, he spent two seasons directing episodes of "The New WKRP In Cincinnati." Rothman is a tenured Full Professor of Theatre at California State University, Los Angeles where he received the 2012/2013 University Award as "The Outstanding Professor of the Year." In spring 2015 he was granted a sabbatical award and both taught classes and created an original eight episode sitcom at The Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts in Sweden. Mr. Rothman is a proud 37-year member of The Society of Director's and Choreographers (SDC).

The Cast of CAT'S-PAW will feature: Ivy Beech, Deborah Marlowe, Sean McHugh, and Vito Viscuso.

CAT'S-PAW has assembled an award-winning design team. Set Design is by David Potts. Lighting Design is by James Moody. Costume Design is by E.B. Brooks. Sound Design is by Adam R. Macias. Properties Design is by Lori Berg. The Stage Manager is Christian Eckels. CAT'S-PAW is produced by Greyson Chadwick.

ABOUT THE SCHEDULE AND PRICING

CAT'S-PAW will preview on Wednesday, March 22 & Thursday, March 23 at 8pm and will open on Friday, March 24 at 8pm and run through Sunday, April 30 at the Actors Co-op David Schall Theatre, 1760 N. Gower St. (on the campus of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood) in Hollywood.

Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:30pm (with Saturday Matinees scheduled for Saturday, April 1 and April 8 at 2:30pm). There will be no performances during the Easter Holiday weekend,

April 14 - 16.

Ticket prices are $30.00 for all Performances. Seniors (60 and over) - $25 and Students - $20.00 - with Student Rush Tickets available at Friday performances (excluding opening nights) on a first-come, first-serve basis subject to availability.

Rush tickets are priced at 1/2 off regular adult tickets price.

Tickets may only be purchased 45 minutes prior to curtain at the box office window. Valid Student ID must be shown. One ticket per ID. Cash only, please.
