The Pasadena Chorale has announced the return of SummerSing, its free week-long summer choir camp for students entering grades 7–12. Taking place June 22–26, 2026, at San Marino Community Church, SummerSing offers young singers an engaging and enriching opportunity to develop their musical skills in a fun, welcoming environment at no cost to families.
Led by Pasadena Chorale Artistic & Executive Director Jeffrey Bernstein, SummerSing provides students with daily instruction in ensemble singing, vocal technique, music theory, and movement. Bernstein, who holds degrees from Harvard, Yale, and UCLA, has more than 30 years of experience as a choral music educator.
“Singing together nourishes body, mind, and spirit,” said Bernstein. “The cognitive benefits of music education are many, and importantly, learning music with others is fun! During our week together we’ll be building and practicing skills that last a lifetime.”
SummerSing meets Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 2:30pm at San Marino Community Church, located at 1750 Virginia Rd, San Marino, CA 91108. Snacks and lunch are provided for all participating students each day.
The program is open to students who enjoy singing in their school choir, regardless of prior musical training or financial circumstances. Pasadena Chorale created SummerSing as part of its ongoing commitment to providing accessible, high-quality music education opportunities for local youth.
SummerSing is made possible through grants provided by the Los Angeles County Department of Arts & Culture, Pasadena Community Foundation, Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts, and Pasadena Tournament of Roses. Their generous support helps ensure that students throughout the Pasadena area can participate in the week-long choir camp free of charge.
Enrollment is now open, and space is limited. Interested families should complete the online enrollment form on Pasadena Chorale’s website by June 15: pasadenachorale.org/summersing.
