Papermoon Gypsys Headline L.A. Music Critics Awards Showcase

By:

Orange County-based band Papermoon Gypsys headline the L.A. Music Critics Awards Winners Showcase at The Hotel Cafe, 1623 N. Cahuenga Blvd., Tuesday, June 20. 10 pm. Tickets $10 (advance), $12 (door), or purchase tickets now at The Hotel Cafe website. Additional info online here: https://www.facebook.com/events/155607534970234/.

Papermoon Gypsys recently took home two LA Music Critics Awards: "Best Blues Artist" and "Fan Favorite", topping a very competitive field. "We're honored and, of course, thrilled to win not just one, but two LA Music Critic Awards, in what was a very competitive field," says Papermoon Gypsys' guitarist and principal songwriter, Kenny "Big Daddy" Williams. "We personally know many of the bands that competed, and were up against some very talented musicians. Thanks to (LA Music Critic Founder) Robert Leggett for recognizing and involving Papermoon Gypsys in these awards."

The dynamic group's live show at The Mint in Los Angeles was recently reviewed by national publication Music Connection, who wrote, "Papermoon Gypsys are one of those groups that American music relies upon heavily often without acknowledging it......Big Brother and the Holding Company meets The Commitments...perfectly enjoyable...singer Lexi G has a powerful set of pipes..guitarist Kenny 'Big Daddy' Williams is a fun guitarist, alternating trad blues licks with elaborate riffs...they sound great and are fun to watch."
