The 2007 Tony Award winner for Best Musical and 2008 Grammy Award winner for Best Musical Show Album, SPRING AWAKENING will return to Los Angeles for one week only, February 8 - 13, 2011.  This engagement will mark the first time the show has come to Hollywood's iconic Pantages Theatre.

Based on the 1891 Frank Wedekind play, the landmark production is a stirring combination of sexuality, morality and rock & roll that has captivated audiences across the nation like no other musical in years. SPRING AWAKENING features an award-winning and evocative story with a score by Duncan Sheik, book and lyrics by Steven Sater, and original direction and choreography by Michael Mayer and Bill T. Jones, respectively.

Set against the backdrop of a repressive and provincial late 19th century Germany, SPRING AWAKENING follows a group of young students as they navigate through teenage self-discovery and coming-of -age anxiety. A powerful celebration of youth and rebellion, SPRING AWAKENING exploded on The Great White Way on December 10, 2006, and The New York Times exclaimed, "Broadway may never be the same."

SPRING AWAKENING contains mature themes, sexual situations and strong language.
Starring in SPRING AWAKENING will be Christopher Wood as Melchior, Elizabeth Judd as Wendla, Coby Getzug as Moritz, Courtney Markowitz as Ilse, Rachel Geisler as Anna, Jim Hogan as Georg, Aliya Bowles as Martha, George E. Salazar as Otto, Emily Mest as Thea, Devon Stone as Hanschen and Daniel Plimpton as Ernst.  Rounding out the ensemble will be Jamie Rea Billings, Erin Burniston, William J. Lewis, Michael Linden and Jeff Ostermueller.

Broadway direction and choreography for SPRING AWAKENING will be recreated by Lucy Skilbeck and JoAnn M. Hunter.  Set design is by Christine Jones, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Kevin Adams and sound design by Brian Ronan.

Originally produced by Ira Pittelman, Tom Hulce, Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and the Atlantic Theatre Co., the 2010 - 2011 National Tour of SPRING AWAKENING is produced by NETworks Presentations, LLC.
