ONCE IN A LIFETIME Runs 10/21-25 At L.A. Theatre Works At The Skirball Center

By:

Once in a Lifetime - Edward Asner and Jonathan Silverman head the cast in George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart's classic screwball spoof of Hollywood, and Christopher Hart, son of the legendary playwright directs. It's 1929 as The Jazz Singer hits the headlines and the "talkies" promise to change movies forever. Enter three down-and-out vaudevillians who hatch a hare-brained scheme to "make it big" in Tinsel Town. Their plan? To open a voice academy for the witless stars of silent movies. The only things standing in their way are ditzy starlets and power-hungry movie moguls. All performances are recorded to air on LATW's syndicated radio theater series, which broadcasts weekly on public radio stations nationwide and can be streamed on demand at www.latw.org.
