New York Film Academy Collaborates with Wounded Warrior Project on Family Workshop

By:

The New York Film Academy announced that the College is providing a unique intensive hands-on workshop to Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) warriors, their caregivers, and families. This special program is being offered by the New York Film Academy Foundation free of charge in partnership with the Wounded Warrior Project and will take place on May 6, 2015 at their Los Angeles campus.

The daylong event will feature a tour of the New York Film Academy's state-of-art Burbank facilities, a filmmaking and acting workshop taught by the Film Academy's esteemed faculty that includes internationally recognized filmmakers and actors. In addition to the workshops, NYFA will screen "True Romance" featuring award winning actor Tom Sizemore. A Q+A with Mr. Sizemore will follow the screening.

The New York Film Academy (NYFA), a nationally accredited and degree-granting College, has been privileged over the last few years to enroll hundreds of veteran students at our campuses in New York City and Los Angeles, California. The honorable Colonel Jack Jacobs, Medal of Honor recipient and on-air military strategists for NBC/MSNBC, is the Chair of the NYFA Veterans Advancement Program.

"We at NYFA consider it an honor to work with the Wounded Warrior Project on this event to support injured servicemembers and their families," said New Film Academy's Director of Veterans Services, John Powers. "Many of the veteran students and dependents that have taken programs at the New York Film Academy have used their life experiences as a way to tell stories within the visual and media arts fields that may not have ever been told."
