Based on conversations with real women shoplifters, "Sticky Fingers" is a one-hour, monologue-driven, ensemble dramedy about women who steal. In this age of soul-baring 12-step programs, admitting to shoplifting seems to be one of society's final taboos and as such, most shoplifters are ashamed to talk about their crimes. Most people are unaware that many shoplifters (especially women) do not steal out of need or greed, but often steal because of deeper psychological reasons that they may not know or are unable to acknowledge.

"Sticky Fingers" opens with a unnamed SECURITY GUARD, a woman who has seen it all and acts as guide and moral conscience for the seven women who tell their personal stories:

There's TIFFANY who steals makeup from Sephora; EVE dreams of having a new iPhone; BEVERLY compulsively steals gifts for her family; ROBIN is a "freegan" who is sick and tired of eating and wearing what no one else wants; JANE thinks "free food just tastes better"; DEIDRE fondly remembers her one and only shoplifting experience; and of course there's the most famous shoplifter of our time - WINONA - who walks out of Saks Fifth Avenue with $5,560 worth of merchandise.

"Sticky Fingers" was created by Terry Anne Holzman who was inspired by verbatim/documentary plays like "Vagina Monolgues", "Love, Loss and What I Wore", "The Exonerated" and the work of Anna Deavere Smith.

Ms. Holzman interviewed women shoplifters and did extensive research and includes brief statistical/educational tidbits in this heart-wrenching but humorous production.

Directed by Ernie Holzman the cast includes Sidney Aptaker, Alison Brown, Francine Daniels, Maya Ferrara, Fiona Lakeland, Hallie Mayer and Kristin Towers-Rowles.

"Sticky Fingers" will be performed in the Dorie Theater at the COMPLEX, 6476 Santa Monica Blvd. Hollywood 90038. Run time: 60 minutes. All performances $12. For tickets and info: hff16.org/3645
