Neil Patrick Harris and judges announce 'Cinderella' Talent Search winner
Lythgoe Family productions, Magic Pictures International and Jason Haigh-Ellery announce that 16 year old Veronica Dunne of Malibu, CA has been selected to play the role of "Cinderella" in the forthcoming production of "Cinderella, a modern Musical Extravaganza" set to play the El Portal Theatre beginning November 27, 2010.
Over 700 young woman auditioned in the "Cinderella" talent search which began in June 2010 at Westfield Shopping Centers across Southern California and came to a close this past Tuesday at the El Portal Theatre. The final 30 contestants endured a long final audition process which included Vocal Performance, Monologues and scene play with confirmed cast members Freddie Stroma (cast as Prince Charming) and Broadway veteran Jennifer Leigh Warren (cast as Fairy Godmother).
After carefully considering each of the contestants, the judging panel which included Director/Producer Bonnie Lythgoe (So You Think You Can Dance AU) and Neil Patrick Harris (CBS' How I Met Your Mother) announced Dunne as their winner.
Cinderalla, a Modern Musical Extravaganza is a wild, wacky and interactive holiday event coming to the states this Holiday Season. The age-old fairytale of Cinderella is set to modern music and dance including songs like Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway", Michael Buble's "Just Haven't Met You Yet", Jennifer Lopez "Let's Get Loud", and many more. Mark Ballas from Dancing With The Stars is set to Choreograph.
