Los Angeles Performance Practice Announces Two Works by Brazen Theater Artist Ivo Dimchev

Los Angeles Performance Practice (LAPP) announces the presentation of two works by the radically imaginative and internationally celebrated theater artist and vocalist Ivo Dimchev, in partnership with the Bootleg Theater. His wildly participatory P Project and his elegantly intimate Songs from My Shows offer Los Angeles audiences a thrilling survey of Dimchev's artistic breadth in two unforgettable evenings. Both performances are presented for one night only at Bootleg Theater, February 23 & 24. Tickets are available at www.losangelesperformancepractice.org.

Known for his provocative and often controversial performance works, Ivo Dimchev explores connections between tragedy and humor and one's personal sense of modesty. P Project in an escalating, interactive performance where actual cash fuels participation based on several P words, such as Piano, Pray, Pussy, Poetry, Poppers...

"The Public is invited to write improvised Poetry on stage and at the same time their Poetry is transformed into a song by the Performer who is Playing on a Piano. People will be given other different opportunities to Participate in the Performance for which they are going to be Paid quite well. After the Performance the Public is invited to Play with the installation of the complex Pussy catalogue and construct their own complex Pussy and Print it on a Postcard."

P Project is a co-production of Impulstanz Vienna, Kaaitheater, Trouble festival/Les Halles, Hebbel theater / Berlin, Volksroom, Humarts Foundation, Frascati/Amsterdam, with subsidy from the Flemish Community in Belgium.
