LESLIE JORDAN: SHOW PONY to Play Renberg Theatre, 12/12-15

By:

Reaction Productions and the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center present the delightful, diminutive, deep-South dynamo: Emmy Award winner Leslie Jordan in his new solo tour-de-force, Show Pony. Returning to the Center's Renberg Theatre in December, Jordan's latest showiz epic will guarantee to make your holidays merry and bright! The show plays December 12, 13, 14 at 8 p.m., and December 15 at 7 p.m.

The lovable star of television and movies (American Horror Story, The Help, Will & Grace, Sordid Lives) Leslie invites you to saddle up for another wild ride when he comes galloping back into town in his latest hysterical, autobiographical romp.

Asked to describe the show, Jordan revealed, "It's about how, after I won that Emmy in 2006, I thought, 'Well, I'm just set.' You win an Oscar, you win an Emmy and you think you're set for life! But I learned right after I won that you cannot EAT an Emmy and I have to keep this ol' ship afloat. Now my management has told me: 'You gotta move on. The Will & Grace stories are old news; they want current stuff; talk about being on RuPaul's Drag Race; talk about The Help -that won an Academy Award! Talk about American Horror Story (whoops, can't talk about that-it's secret! Well, maybe just a little.) Talk about what you've been up to lately. Make it current!' That's what Show Pony is about."

Join the master storyteller for an evening of side splitting showbiz dish, offbeat observation and insight, and tales from his always eventful (to say the least!) colorful life.

$35: General Admission
Proceeds benefit the free & low-cost services provided by the Center.

Tickets available at: lagaycenter.org/theatre or by calling 323-860-7300.
