The Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival (LAWTF) is pleased to host its First Annual Solo Performer Empowerment Day in association with the Fremont Centre Theatre (FCT) on November 16, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Centre Court Theatre, 1000 Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena, California 91030. LAWTF has crafted these diverse workshops for performers with, or interested in, furthering their career as a solo artist, including creating a one-person show, marketing, producing, touring, submitting winning packages to theatre festivals, and much more.

These empowering workshops and panels will include: a How to Submit Winning Package to a Solo Festival; Targeting & Marketing to Attract New Audiences, Hitting the Road:Touring Your Solo Show, Building Your Solo Team, Crafting a Solo Career and so much more. Learn from the best, ask questions, network and walk away feeling prepared to create or grow your one-person show. LAWTF's industry panelists and facilitators shall be announced at a later date.

LAWTF is a critically-acclaimed international festival which has produced close to 500 extraordinary global solo artists. These multicultural and multi-disciplined artists represent such diverse disciplines as theatre, dance, storytelling, performance art, performance poetry, spoken word, mime, aerialism, music, song, and stand-up comedy. Founded in 1993, LAWTF holds the distinction of being the city's oldest Annual Solo Festival celebrating powerful women performers.

The California Performing Arts Centre opened the Fremont Centre Thratre in 1997 under the Co-Artistic Director leadership of James and Lissa Reynolds. Since then, more than 60 shows have graced the FCT stage. FCT's mission is to encourage, nurture and launch new plays and new playwrights.
