Kim Coles Hosts Opening Night Of FABULATION At Lounge Theatre 6/4

By:

West Coast Ensemble is thrilled to announce that "In Living Color" & "Living Single" star Kim Coles will host the Opening Night Performance of a very special event, the inaugural project of West Coast Ensemble's Diversity Initiative, FABULATION: OR THE RE-EDUCATION OF UNDINE, written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynne Nottage (Ruined) and directed by Ben Campbell. FABULATION: OR THE RE-EDUCATION OF UNDINE will open on Friday, June 4 at 8:00pm (with Kim Coles in attendance) and continue through Sunday, June 13 at The Lounge Theatre, 6201 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood.

Lynne Nottage's FABULATION: OR THE RE-EDUCATION OF UNDINE takes a satirical look at stereotypes at both ends of the social spectrum. Undine Barnes Calles is a successful African American entrepreneur at the top of her game. When her husband suddenly disappears after embezzling all of her money, Undine retreats to her childhood home in Brooklyn's Walt Whitman projects, only to discover that she must cope with a crude new reality. Undine's riches-to-rags journey is a thought-provoking comeuppance tale with a comic twist. Hailed as "clever and consistently entertaining" by Variety and "robustly entertaining" by the New York Times, FABULATION: THE RE-EDUCATION OF UNDINE is funded in part by a generous grant from the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department.
