Jero in Concert at Aratani/Japan America Theatre, 3/31

By: Jan. 11, 2010

Japanese music superstar Jerome CharLes White, Jr., aka Jero, the first African American enka singer in the history of Japanese music, makes his LA concert debut on March 31st. He has single-handedly reignited interest in the musical ballads that emerged in Japan's post-war era and has redefined the soul of Japan.

Jero was named the best new performer of 2008, appearing on the Japanese television New Year's Eve songfest extravaganza "Kohaku." Dedicating his song to his ailing grandmother, audience members agreed that Jero best exemplified the show's theme of "creating bonds between people through the power of music."

Jero in Concert: Redefining the Soul of Japan held on Wednesday, 03.31.10 8pm at the Aratani/Japan America Theatre.

Tickets start at $50 with premium seats available for $100. Public sales for Jero tickets begin on February 1st with a special JACCC member pre-sale through January.
