JACCC Presents THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES Feat. Lea Salonga et al., 4/25

The Japanese American Cultural & Community Center Presents THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES: Filipinas 2010 on Sunday April 25. The all-Filipina cast includes Grammy Award winner Tia Carrere, recording artist and performer Becca Godinez, Ovation Award winner Jennifer Paz, actress Tamlyn Tomita, actress/singer Giselle Tongi and Tony Award winner Lea Salonga.

THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES is an award-winning play based on V-Day Founder/playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace the play celebrates women's sexuality and strength. Through this play and the liberation of this one word, countless women throughout the world have taken control of their bodies and their lives. For more than twelve years, The Vagina Monologues has given voice to experiences and feelings not previously exposed in public.

Lea Salonga originated the role of Kim in MISS SAIGON in the West End. Salonga won the Olivier for Best Performance By An Actress In A Musical in 1989, after moving with the show to Broadway, Salonga won the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Award. THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES will be performed on Sunday April 25 at 4pm, at the Aratani/Japan American Theatre. Tickets are $35 for adults and $25 for students. Tickets may be purchased online by visiting the JACCC's ticket center or through the Aratani/Japan America Theatre Box Office, (213) 680-3700.
