The award-winning Impro Theatre continues its 11th Anniversary Season with the World Premiere workshop production of Play UnScripted at the intimate Impro Studio in the heart of Los Feliz Village. These completely improvised performances will take place on Saturday nights at 7:30pm from March 11 to April 29, 2017.

Directed by Nick Massouh and Dan O'Connor, the workshop production of Play UnScripted starts with audience suggestions and features Impro Theatre's Main Company improvising a contemporary two-act play from scratch with no pre-set genre, no guidelines and no safety net. Every performance is completely unique, with the audience discovering the play right alongside the actors. Inspired by modern playwrights like Christopher Durang, Rajiv Joseph, Tracy Letts, Yasmina Reza and Sarah Ruhl, Play UnScripted is built on pure imagination and creativity in an evening of theatre that will never be seen again.

The rotating cast includes Main Company members Kari Coleman, Lisa Fredrickson, Madi Goff, Kelly Holden Bashar, Brian Michael Jones, Stephen Kearin, Brian Lohmann, Nick Massouh, Jo McGinley, Dan O'Connor, Edi Patterson, Mike Rock, Paul Rogan, Ryan Smith, Michele Spears and Floyd VanBuskirk.

Play UnScripted is a stripped-down, intimate production from Impro Theatre, which has garnered national attention with their unique, acclaimed brand of theatre and sold-out shows. They create entirely improvised, full-length plays in various styles; every show is completely different, and each performance is seen only by the people in the theatre on that night. In Los Angeles, Impro Theatre recently performed 1966 Holiday Variety Extravaganza at The Broad Stage and L.A. Noir UnScripted at the 1200-seat Ford Amphitheatre as part of the Ford Theatre's summer season. They have performed locally at South Coast Repertory, The Falcon Theatre in Burbank, North Coast Repertory, Lewis Family Playhouse, The Carrie Hamilton Theatre at the Pasadena Playhouse, and many more. They have also headlined comedy events around the country and performed at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Athenaeum Theatre in Chicago, Texas State University, Sarasota Improv Festival, and dozens more.

Writing about Impro Theatre, American Theatre magazine said, "These virtuosic talents simply are as superhuman as they seem. These serious professional actors, classically trained, can write on their feet better than many writers can type at a desk. Impro's work has taught me to demand more from the theatre." Los Angeles Times calls Impro Theatre, "Amazing! One of the funniest evenings in town. The troupe spins an entire play into comedy gold right before your eyes." Impro's shows have been consistently honored with "Ovation Recommended" and "Critic's Picks," and they were recently named by LAist as one of the 12 Best Theatre Companies in Los Angeles.

Play UnScripted runs from March 11 to April 29, 2017. Performances are Saturdays at 7:30pm. General admission tickets are $15. Running time is 90 minutes. Tickets are available at www.ImproTheatre.com or by calling (323) 401-6162.
