ISC Extends ROMEO & JULIET Through 5/25

Independent Shakespeare Co. (ISC), presenters of the Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival, are thrilled to announce that their critically-acclaimed new adaptation of Shakespeare's ROMEO & JULIET, directed by Independent Shakespeare Co.'s Artistic Director Melissa Chalsma is EXTENDING through SUNDAY, MAY 25 at the Independent Shakespeare Co. Studio in the Atwater Crossing Arts + Innovation Complex, 3191 Casitas Ave., #168 in Atwater Village.

The most famous love story of all time gets an athletic and imaginative staging in this new adaptation that incorporates dynamic choreography and visually rich design. Eight multitalented performers tell the story of adolescent bliss spinning out of control by combining the textual clarity ISC is known for with spirited and lyrical movement. This production features Erika Soto and Nikhil Pai in the title roles. Comments Independent Shakespeare Co.'s Artistic Director Melissa Chalsma, "We are thrilled with the response we have been receiving from our audiences and the press on behalf of this new adaptation we are presenting of one of the most famous love stories of all time. Gearing up for our free Summer shows in Griffith Park, this extension allows more Shakespeare and ISC fans to enjoy the work prior to our productions of The Taming of the Shrew andTwelfth Night beginning in June!"

ROMEO & JULIET is EXTENDING through Sunday, May 25 at the Independent Shakespeare Co. Studio in the Atwater Crossing Arts + Innovation Complex, 3191 Casitas Ave., #168 in Atwater Village, 90039. Free, ample lot and street parking.

Regular performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm & Sundays at 2pm. There will be no performances the weekend of May 8 - 11 or Thursday night performances on Thursday, May 15 & 22.

Special student matinees are Tuesdays and Wednesdays from April 16 - 30.
