CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES, a show celebrating the church kitchen and the women who work there, has been extended at the Grove Theatre. Selected dates have now been added through July 26th. CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES, is a new musical comedy featuring four distinct characters and their relationships as they organize the food and solve the problems of a rural Minnesota church about to undergo changes in 1965.

From the elderly matriarch of the kitchen to the young bride-to-be learning the proper order of things, we see them handle a record breaking Christmas dinner, the funeral of a dear friend, a HawaiIan Easter Fund Raiser, and, of course, a steaming hot July wedding. They stave off potential disasters, share and debate recipes, instruct the young, and keep the Pastor on due course while thoroughly enjoying, (and tolerating) each other as the true "steel magnolias" of the church.

If you've ever been involved in planning or providing dinner functions for a group, you will identify with this show.

Friday performances are at 7:29 pm, and Sundays are at 2:00 pm. Saturday performance times vary between 2:00 pm and 7:29 pm. Tickets to see CHURCH BASEMENT LADIES are specially priced for this economy at $30.00 or $25.00. Show days and times vary each weekend, so call the box office or visit the web site for specific dates.
