Forever Flamenco and Ethan Margolis Debut FAMILY GYPSY SONG Image

The Fountain Theatre's "Forever Flamenco" monthly series and Ethan Margolis will debut Family Gypsy Song, a rare and authentic roots Gypsy flamenco concert. Two performances will take place on Thursday, Nov. 1 and Sunday, Nov. 4, both starting at 8 p.m.

Family Gypsy Song illuminates the importance of the non-commercial yet seminal Gypsy singing dynasties in the development of flamenco song and dance. Juan Bacán and his nephew, Miguel Funi Hijo, Gypsy vocalists from the Pinini legacy of singers in Lebrija, Spain, will share their intimate form of cante jondo (deep song) with the Forever Flamenco audience. In a world where sensationalism can at times cause artistic creation to lose itself, Juan and Miguel promise to re-root their audience in the oldest forms of flamenco song. The performance will also feature the spellbinding collaboration of award-winning French dancer Fanny Ara with popular Gypsy singing artist Antonio de Jerez. Musical direction is by All About Jazzfeatured guitarist Ethan Margolis whose wife, dancer Cihtli Ocampo, will be featured in a special guest appearance at the end of the performance.

Tickets to Family Gypsy Song range from $30-$50. The Fountain Theatre is located at5060 Fountain Avenue (at Normandie) in Los Angeles. Secure, on-site parking is available for $5. The Fountain Theatre is air-conditioned and wheelchair accessible. Patrons are invited to relax before and after the show at the Fountain's indoor/outdoor café. For reservations and information, call (323) 663-1525 or go to www.FountainTheatre.com.
