Hollywood's legendary El Capitan Theatre presents DISNEY PIPES AND POPS, a magical musical celebration of Disney films and their music with the award winning Rob Richards at the Mighty Wurlitzer Pipe Organ and featuring American new gospel pianist Alex-Zsolt, on Saturday January 15, 2011 at 10:00am, it was announced today by Lylle Breier, senior vice president of worldwide special events for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Rob Richards will accompany the classic silent Mickey Mouse cartoons "Plane Crazy" and "Galloping Gaucho" on the Mighty Wurlitzer Pipe Organ, allowing El Capitan guests to experience these films in the way they were originally presented.

Breier said, "The El Capitan is the only place that could present this special concert of live organ and piano accompaniment to original silent Mickey Mouse cartoons. This one-of-a-kind event is sure to be a favorite of fans of Rob Richards, Disney's early cartoons and Wurlitzer music lovers alike."

DISNEY PIPES AND POPS features the El Capitan's own organist Rob Richards who was named 2005 "Organist of the Year" by the American Theatre Organ Society, which coincided with his thirtieth year of concert performance and the Society's own 50th anniversary.

Richards has gained worldwide celebrity as a concert and recording artist, and is currently the House Organist at Disney's historic El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. In addition to his international concert schedule, he has performed an astonishing SIX THOUSAND performances at the El Capitan since 1999, playing the legendary Wurlitzer pipe organ originally installed in San Francisco's Fox Theatre. His combination of technical facility, showmanship and personality has won him fans across America and around the world. Passionately committed to arts programming for young people, Rob is well known for his concerts that introduce children to the theatre organ.

America's New Gospel Pianist Alex-Zsolt has a sincere passion for performing at the piano for all ages. In the past twelve years, Alex has played at over 800 venues, including churches. His programs encompass a vast range of styles from classics to pops, jazz and gospel.

To date, Zsolt has released ten CDs, the most recent "DUETS" with Rob Richards. Many of his CDs are collaborations with composer and arranger David T. Clydesdale. In addition to his concert work, Alex is a published arranger.
