Dark Comedy DOUBTING THOMASON Returns to Los Angeles, Now thru 9/27

By:

The dark comedy DOUBTING THOMASON will return to Los Angeles at the Whitmore-Lindley Theatre, 11006 Magnolia Blvd. North Hollywood, Calif. The production opens tonight, September 5th, 2014, and runs Fridays and Saturday through Sept 27th, 2014.

In DOUBTING THOMASON, when five members of a theater company learn they do not have the rights to perform the play "Killer Joe," days before opening, they must write write/rehearse/perform a new play in one week! And they must the same actors, the same exact set and (for reasons that will become clear) include a man-man kissing scene.

The theater company is comprised of Teddy (a flamboyant drama queen with claws as sharp as his wit), Kate (who longs to be on a soap opera and followed by paparazzi), Jake (a laid back surfer dude with ample bong wisdom), Lynette (an accomplished director who lives for the theatre) and Thomason (the company writer who will live in the theater as he writes the new play).

The actors also portray diametrically opposed characters from the new play being written by Thomason as it unfolds. The two worlds come on a collision course until the final climax on opening night!

Christopher Brewster, the playwright has written a number of produced plays (Forever September, Vegetarian Carves The Bird, Van Nuys Stoies) and also several screenplays. He is currently the executive producer of "Appalachian Outlaws" on the History Channel.

This will be the third production director Paul Storiale will be a part of. In 2011 he played the role of Teddy/Lee and in 2013 he directed the play to rave reviews. This time around he will double as an actor and direct the play. Storiale wrote and directed "The Columbine Project" which jumped directly off-Broadway after premiering in Los Angeles in 2009. Since then it has appeared in Los Angeles every year. Storiale also created "One Night Stands, the sex comedies", and "Dysfunctional Family Christmas".

The cast of "Doubting Thomason" includes (in alphabetical order): Michael Austin Elliot, Tiffany Anne Jordan, Sophia Rose, Adam Serafino, and Paul Anthony Storiale.
