Dance Into Unity Productions presents the World Premiere of "TANGO ADAMOR." Critically acclaimed Broadway star, Miriam Larici, the face and star of Luis Bravo's hit Broadway and London productions of "Forever Tango," leads a cast of world-renowned Argentinean Tango dancers and musicians in this sensuous evening of dance. Performances will be given on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Wilshire Theatre Beverly Hills; 8440 Wilshire Boulevard; Beverly Hills, CA 90211 and on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Alex Theatre; 216 N. Brand Boulevard; Glendale, CA 91203.    

Miriam Larici will serve as Artistic Director and Choreographer of the production.  She will also appear as a Principal Dancer leading a cast of dancers including:  Leonardo Barrionuevo (National Tour of Luis Bravo's "Forever Tango," Choreographer and Miriam Larici's dancing partner); Natalia Hills (Broadway star of Luis Bravo's "Forever Tango") and Gabriel Misse; Mayte Valdes and Carlos Barrionuevo (both members of Luis Bravo's "Forever Tango" cast in Argentina); Jairelbhi Furlong and Jeorge Furlong; and Guillermo De Fazio and Enrique De Fazio (Los Hermanos Macana).  Singer Lizzie Furlong, Guitarist Roberto Furlong and Seth Asarnow's Tango Quintet (Seth Asarnow, 1st Bandoneon; Julian Ramil, 2nd Bandoneon; Pablo Motta, Bass; Alan Basteed, Violin and Louis Durra, Piano) will provide the musical accompaniment for the dancers.

This event is being produced to Raise Autism Awareness.  Net proceeds from this event will benefit dance and music programs for Autism organizations.  Autism is a neurological communication disorder that impairs social interaction.  Dance Into Unity Productions and its business moniker, Dance Into Unity, Inc., is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation dedicated to bringing dance, music and arts programs to under-served populations with a focus on individuals with Autism.

Miriam Larici (Artistic Director, Choreographer, Principal Dancer) is at the helm of this production.  She is the face and former star of Luis Bravo's Broadway and London hit, "Forever Tango," which launched her international career as The World's Leading Lady of Tango.  Besides choreographing the World Premiere of "TANGO ADAMOR," Larici will appear in this production as a Principal Dancer with her dancing partner Leonardo Barrionuevo.

Aside for being a very well known performer, Larici is a highly respected dance instructor and choreographer.  In her evolution as an artist and professional, Larici's interests and talents have expanded to include production and directorial credits in notable, highly praised projects including:  "Tango and Fire," "Festival Internacional de Tango Argentino," "El Corazòn de Tango" and "Tango Buenos Aires."

She has been invited to perform with the most prestigious orchestras of the world at some of the most highly publicized international events, including the performing arts series, "Evening at Pops," with the Boston Pops Orchestra, broadcasted nationally on PBS.  During introductory comments for the broadcast, acclaimed actress and dancer, Leslie Caron, had this to say about Miriam Larici and her dancing partner:  "If I had to choose among Tango dancers in the world, these two would be my option. 

 

Larici is most well known for her role as the star of the Broadway hit, Luis Bravo's "Forever Tango," where she appeared as the Principal-Lead of the show, performing for several years at the Walter Kerr and Marquis Theater in Time Square.  Her extensive credits also include roles in the Broadway shows "42nd Street, " and the musical, "Me and My Girl."  She has also appeared in stage productions of:  "Laugh & Tango" (U.S. & Canada), "Folies Bergere" (U.S.), "Alma de Tango" (Japan & Taiwan), "Tango Spirit III" (Japan), "Tango Fiesta" (U.S.), "Tango Dreams" (U.S. & Indonesia), "Fusion Tango" (U.S.), "I Tango" (U.S.), and the movie, "Mambo Kings."

She has performed and taught in the Bermudas, Canada, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Portugal, Seoul and Pusan, South Korea, Spain, Indonesia, Taiwan, and in all major cities of the United States, including Argentina's famous Colon Theater at the Argentine Opera House.  In addition to her theatrical appearances, Larici has made many appearances on television in countries around the world, including:  Argentina, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Korea and the U.S.  Larici is the Co-Founder, and now sole Producer of the annual international Los Angeles Tango festival, Los Angeles de Tango.
