DEAR HARVEY: Stories Of Harvey Milk Plays Celebration Theater 5/31

By:

Dear Harvey: Stories of Harvey Milk comes to Celebration Theatre, 7051B Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood for one night only.

Come be a part of history and join us at The Celebration Theatre's One-Night Only Fundraiser Reading of Dear Harvey: Stories of Harvey Milk by Patricia Loughrey.

Originally commissioned by and granted to Celebration Theatre by the Diversionary Theatre of San Diego, this special engagement will be performed in honor of the birth month of Harvey Milk, to give a voice to the movement approving a national holiday for Harvey Milk and to raise money for the Hetrick-Martin Institute: Home of The Harvey Milk High School.

Based on the writings of Harvey Milk and first person interviews, Dear Harvey shares the stories of Milk's rise and untimely death, and how his life and passion influenced the lives of many people around him. Interviewees include: Tom Ammiano, Cleve Jones, Anne Kronenberg, John Laird, Dan Nicoletta, Stuart Milk, Chris Kehoe, Robin Tyler and others.

Due to the recent events in regards to California Supreme Court's decision in support of Prop 8, immediately following the performance, the Celebration Theatre will be holding a talk-back and Town Hall forum to have a safe, peaceful and productive debate regarding how we, as a community, can come together and move forward in dealing with this issue.

Tickets are only $10 for this One-Night Only Event and half of all ticket sales and donations will go directly to the institute.

Dear Harvey will star various CT company members. To make reservations, please email reservations@celebrationtheatre.com or call the theatre at (323) 957-1884.

Dear Harvey: Stories of Harvey Milk is directed by Celebration Theatre's Associate Artistic Director Anthony Frisina. The show is Stage Managed by Matthew Denman. Celebration's Artistic Director is Michael A. Shepperd. Celebration's Managing Director is Michael Kricfalusi.
