Chromolume Theatre at the Attic Presents PUTTING IT TOGETHER 11/14-12/21
Chromolume Theatre has announced its final production of 2014, Stephen Sondheim's Putting It Together, opening on Friday, November 14 at 8pm. Devised by Sondheim and Julie McKenzie with music and lyrics by Sondheim and musical direction by Richard Berent, Putting It Together will be directed and choreographed by Ovation Award-winner Cate Caplin. The show will play a strictly limited engagement through December 21 only.
Putting It Together is a musical revue showcasing the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning songs of Stephen Sondheim. Celebrating Sondheim's incomparable career in musical theatre and featuring nearly 30 songs, the show takes place at a Hollywood movie premiere party in the home of the producer/director and his trophy wife leading lady. A composer and his date, a wanna-be starlet, along with an up-and-coming screenwriter, spend the evening reflecting on the illusions and desires of relationships intertwined amidst life "in the biz" in Hollywood.
The cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Kurt Hansen, Rachel Hirshee, Mike Irizarry, Chris Kerrigan, and Kristin Towers-Rowles. Scenic and sound design are by James Esposito, lighting design is by Luc Hediger, and costume design is by Ovation Award-winner Michael Mullen. The stage manager is Lauren J. Peters.
Putting It Together opens on Friday, November 14 at 8pm. The regular performance schedule is Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pmthrough December 21. Tickets are $28, with discounts for students and seniors ($25) and children 12 and under ($23), and may be purchased online at www.crtheatre.com or via telephone at 323-205-1617.
