Chalk Repertory Theatre's 2013 Anniversary Season

With the partnership of the Los Angeles Natural History Museum and UCLA's Clark Memorial Library, Chalk Repertory Theatre announces the summer and fall productions of its Fifth Anniversary Season.

Following the successful world premiere of MOMMUNE by Dorothy Fortenberry, Chalk Rep heads to the grounds of UCLA's historic William Clark Memorial Library to present Lady Windemere's Fan by Oscar Wilde from July 27-August 18, 2013 on Saturdays and Sundays at 6:00pm. The Clark Memorial Library is located at 2520 Cimarron Street in Los Angeles, CA 90018, and houses the pre-eminent collection of Oscar Wilde materials in the world. Lady Windemere's Fan will be performed in Chalk's signature site-specific style throughout the lawns and courtyards of the library.

Performances of Lady Windemere's Fan are a part of the Clark's new Arts on the Grounds series this summer. More information at www.c1718cs.ucla.edu/artsonthegrounds.

In conjunction with the Los Angeles Natural History Museum's 100th Anniversary, Chalk Repertory will premiere four new short plays September 21-October 13, 2013. Four L.A. based playwrights have each been commissioned to write an original 20-minute play inspired by and set in an assigned decade and section of the Natural History Museum in order to illuminate its rich history, architecture and exhibits.

Tickets for Lady Windemere's Fan will be available at www.chalkrep.com and tickets for the Natural History Museum show will be available at www.nhm.org.

Chalk Repertory Theatre is dedicated to presenting classical and contemporary plays in unconventional spaces around Los Angeles County. Chalk Rep kicked off in 2009 with a critically-acclaimed season of four plays including the Ovation Award-winning Family Planning. Other past productions include Three Sisters, Twelfth Night, and the West Coast Premiere of Slither at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, the West Coast premiere of The Debate over Courtney O'Connell of Columbus, Nebraska by Mat Smart, the 2010 and 2012 FLASH Festival of short plays, three world premiere productions by founding member Ruth McKee including Hell Money, Full Disclosure, and the Garland Nominated Stray, and most recently the world premiere of MOMMUNE by Dorothy Fortenberry.
