Center Theatre Group Hosts Free College & Career Fair

Center Theatre Group invites current high school students, parents and teachers to attend the fourth annual College & Career Fair for the Arts on April 6, 2019, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fair is free to attend and will take place at The Music Center Annex located at 601 W. Temple St. in Downtown L.A.
More than 25 local colleges will be in attendance, including USC, UCLA, Pepperdine and Emerson College. The fair will also feature opportunities for students to meet with Working Theatre professionals (playwrights, actors, designers and directors), receive one-on-one college counseling and attend free workshops. There will also be a free food truck from noon to 2 p.m.
Students are advised to RSVP in advance for a chance to have free headshots taken (available to the first 100 students who register and attend).
Throughout the day, there are workshops for students as well as parents, legal guardians and educators to attend. The first workshop (students only) is "Applying & Paying for College" at 10 a.m., which will focus on what college admissions staff are looking for in applications and what options are available to fund a college education. The second workshop (parents, guardians and educators only) is "College Financing for Parents of Artists" at 11 a.m., offering an overview of paying for high education -including scholarships and financial aid-as well as school and degree options. Also, at 11 a.m., the third workshop (students only) is "Your Theatre Career," which is designed to help students think about the life they want to lead in the arts and how they can make it happen. The final workshop is for students, parents, guardians and educators and is titled "Making a Living in the Arts" at 1:30 p.m. and focus on how to find jobs in the arts and what career options are available. Students will hear from working artists and theatre employers in this practical workshop.
To RSVP to the College & Career Fair for the Arts, students can visit
