After Dark presents John Cantwell's Love, Connie at Celebration Love, Connie is a multi-media dance comedy thriller starring John Cantwell as "Connie Slocum," and features Jennifer Dohn as "Vickie," with a special guest appearance by actor/singer Kelly Mantle (LOGO's DragTastic NYC, New Adventures of Old Christine, The Confusion of My Illusion, and the band, Tranzkuntinental) as "Bambi".
Connie Slocum (a sketch character Cantwell originated with legendary comedy trio The Nellie Olesons) is a loveable, albeit hirsute, ramshackle flashdancer who wants nothing more than to entertain an audience with her wild choreography and pageantry skills. But a nemesis from Connie's past threatens to derail her plans by putting her beloved pussy cat, Vickie, in jeopardy. Watch Connie as she boogies to pop hits; strips off an array of spectacular outfits; Laughs, cries, hunts and fights harder than a baby sitter in a ‘70's-era slasher film! All while never forgetting that there's an audience to entertain and a cat she loves more than life itself!progressive gay and lesbian voices in Contemporary Theatre and performance in Los
