Heading to the West Coast, wanting to see some theatre, but not wanting to deal with the congestion and rat race of Los Angeles or the Bay Area?  Then why not come to the heart of the California Central Coast where we have beautiful beaches, idyllic weather, wineries and fine restaurants galore, and numerous theatre venues to fit every taste and pocketbook!

The Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts (www.pcpa.org) is currently performing "Les Miserables" at their Festival Theatre in Solvang through July 12, and "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" at the Marian Theatre in Santa Maria through July 11 (Solvang, July 17 - August 2), with "The Music Man" running July 17 - August 1 at the Marian Theatre (Solvang, August 7-23).

The Great American Melodrama & Vaudeville in Oceano (www.americanmelodrama.com) is currently performing "Gold Fever at the Rough and Ready" - and as of July 18 will be alternating performances with "Rip van Winkle" through September 20.

At the Clark Center in Arroyo Grande (www.clarkcenter.org), Sorcerer Productions presents "The Producers" August 21 - September 6.

At the Cal Poly Performing Arts Center in San Luis Obispo (www.pacslo.org) you can see Kelrik Productions' (www.kelrikproductions.com) "High School Musical 2" July 10 - 19 in the Spanos Theatre, or on the Cohan Center stage catch the Indigo Girls on July 11, the Festival Mozaic Grand Finale Concert July 26, the National Youth Choir of Great Britain August 3, or Lyle Lovett And His Large Band on August 8.

Or - if you prefer more intimate community theatre offerings, there's the Central Coast Shakespeare Festival (www.centralcoastshakespeare.org) and Pioneer Players (www.pioneerplayers.org) in Paso Robles [the heart of the Central Coast wine country!], the Pewter Plough Playhouse (www.pewterploughplayhouse.org) and Houselights Theatre (www.houselightstheatre.org) in picturesque Cambria, and San Luis Obispo Little Theatre (www.slolittletheatre.org) in beautiful San Luis Obispo.

Hope to be seeing you at one of our theatre venues in the near future!
