CONNECT Opens 2/12 at Theatre 68
ABOUT THE SHOW
In CONNECT, a two act, single set, four character, dramatic play, Samantha, is the wife of a wealthy Hollywood producer. For the last two years she has been a recluse in her beach front Malibu house. The unemployed working class Toby, late 20's, lives with his recovering alcoholic mother in a provincial Arizona town. He has been a recluse for the last year.
While Samantha and her husband's marriage languishes with quiet desperation, Toby and his mother's relationship sparks with turbulent confrontation. Although both Toby and Samantha are beleaguered by pangs of abject loneliness, neither can muster the fortitude to venture out of his/her house.
Then, one day, fate intervenes and brings this unlikely pair together. Samantha works as a "model" for a phone sex service. Toby becomes one of her patrons. As these two become increasingly closer, we learn the secrets that have fettered each of their lives.
