Asylum Theater to Bring KILL ALL POLITICIANS to Hollywood Fringe

By:

Whether by fate or coincidence, writer-director Thomas Yungerberg premieres his new comedic play KILL ALL POLITICIANS at Asylum's 6470 Theater (6470 Santa Monica Blvd. LA. CA. 90038) just days before the California primary.

The play's two main characters, Stu and Ben, live right in the middle of the overwhelming hurricane that is the American political process: Washington DC. Filled with energy and no purpose, the two roommates often find themselves commenting on the dire condition of contemporary American politics. Apathy, ignorance, and misplaced anger are all on the table for discussion.

However, when Stu gets a parking ticket one fateful evening, the time for talking is over. The two conspire together with the help of their neighbors to create a movement that will change the political landscape in America in ways the country could have never imagined. But as the night goes on, and their plans get bigger, their friendship struggles to survive their midnight revelation.

The play is billed as a comedy, but the ensemble cast is dedicated to letting the heart within the absurdist premise shine through. It pushes the envelope not only in its title, but while exploring themes of belonging, suffering, and self-worth.

Directed by Thomas Yungerberg, the cast consists of Joshua Verges, Thomas Yungerberg, Chiara McCarty, Chris Hallett, Emma Sleath, and Keshava Betts.

KILL ALL POLITICIANS will be performed in the Asylum's 6470 Theater at 6470 Santa Monica Blvd., Hollywood 90038. Running time: 90 minutes. All performances are $12, with comps available for members of the press upon request. For tickets go to www.hollywoodfringe.org/projects/3392.
