Alfred Music Publishing Salutes Broadway Genius

By:

Alfred Music Publishing, the official print music publisher of thousands of popular songwriters, artists, and Broadway musicals, releases the first-ever Michael John LaChiusa Songbook, arranged for piano and voice.

The Michael John LaChiusa Songbook contains 39 songs from one of the most distinctive and admired theatre composers of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Over 250 pages of music chronicle two decades of LaChiusa shows, from early 90s breakouts First Lady Suite and Hello Again to celebrated favorites like The Wild Party and See What I Wanna See.

Also included are four pages of full-color production photos with a foreword by Ira Weitzman, Associate Producer of Musicals at Lincoln Center Theatre. As a special bonus, the book features three of the songs from his highly-anticipated upcoming musical, Giant.

Composer, lyricist, and librettist John Michael LaChiusa established himself as a powerful presence in the American musical theatre scene after winning the Off-Broadway Obie Award in 1993 for his musicals First Lady Suite and Hello Again. On Broadway, LaChiusa was represented by the musicals The Wild Party and Marie Christine, which together received 12 Tony Award® nominations.

As part of Alfred's ongoing commitment to improving our environment, this songbook is printed on recycled paper stock.

The Michael John LaChiusa Songbook (00-36430) is now available for $27.99 at music retail stores or on alfred.com.
