Aldis Hodge To Lead Readings Of DARK PEOPLE By Geoffrey Thorne Aldis Hodge (UNDERGROUND, LEVERAGE, STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON) stars in Dark People, a new play that examines Hollywood stereotypes, written by Geoffrey Thorne (LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT, LEVERAGE, BLACK PANTHER'S QUEST).

Directed by Bola Ogun (ARE WE GOOD PARENTS?, THE WATER PHOENIX), the cast also includes: Anniwaa Buachie, David Julian Hirsh (WEEDS, HAWTHORNE, TWIST OF FAITH), Wade Allian-Marcus (INSECURE, GOSSIP GIRL), Jeffrey Omura (THE INTERESTINGS, THE BLACKLIST, LIMITLESS), and Tongayi Chirisia (CRUSOE, AMERICAN HORROR STORY, SKIN).

DARK PEOPLE will be the third offering from BESPOKE PLAYS at The Pico (10508 Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90064), November 30 & December 1 at 8pm then December 2 at 6:30pm.

Written in the tradition of SLEUTH and DEATHTRAP, the play's very much the thing in this tale of a low-rent movie producer kidnapped by a street gang to pay off a debt. But don't be fooled; things are very much not what they seem in this story of crime and mistaken identity. By the end the lines between victim and victor become decidedly blurred.

Bespoke Plays is a monthly reading series produced by Christine Boylan and Ellie Pyle.
