Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities and Executive Producer James A. Blackman, III proudly present A Midsummer Night's Dream written by William Shakespeare and directed by Ovation Award winner Stephanie A. Coltrin. The show opens with previews May 26, 27, 28 and the Gala Press Opening night will be Friday, March 29 at the Hermosa Beach Playhouse. This is the final show in the 2009/2010 Season for The Playhouse.

A Midsummer Night's Dream is a comedy by William Shakespeare. It portrays the adventures of four young Athenian lovers, a group of amateur actors, their interactions with the Duke of Athens, Theseus, the Queen of the Amazons, Hippolyta, and with the fairies who inhabit a moonlit forest. The play is one of Shakespeare's most popular works for the stage and is widely performed across the world.

The cast includes: Douglas Bilitch as Oberon the King of the Fairies and Theseus, Suzanne Dean as Titania the Fairy Queen and Hippolyta. As the star crossed lovers: Michaelia Leigh as Hermia, Beth Moline as Helena, Cylan Brown as Demetrius, Brad Standley as Lysander. With Ryland Dodge as Puck, Nicholas Mongiardo-Cooper as.Bottom, Mike Kersey as Snout, Cody Lyman as Snug, Joel Bryant as Quince/Egeus, Andrew Oberstein as Flute, Jason Thomas as Starveling and Hannah Bornstein, Sean Cruz and Anne Underwood as the Fairies.

All performances are held at the 400-seat HERMOSA BEACH PLAYHOUSE located on Pier Avenue at Pacific Coast Highway, Hermosa Beach, California. Valet parking is available in front of the Theatre On Pier Ave for Friday, Saturday and Sunday performances for $5. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, you'll find plenty of free parking around the theatre.
